About Us - The Christian Flag Football began in Clermont, Florida in the Spring of 2001 as an off shoot of the Christian Flag Football Association established in 1998 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida by Craig Miller. Craig now coaches one of the top ranked teams in the State of Florida

What began in Clermont as a 4 team league and grew to an average of 12 teams per season. One of our goals was to provide a great family atmosphere where men can play football competitively and be proud to have their families there. However, our ultimate goal is to honor our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.

After 11 years and 22 seaons, the league played its last game in the Spring of 2012

However, if you are interested in playing flag football in South lake County, please go to facebook and search for Southlake Flagfootball.

Personal Testimony

For those of you who do not know me personally, I would like to share with you briefly a little bit about myself and about the league. Anyone who knows me knows I have a passion for football. I love to play it, watch it, coach it. The Christian Flag Football League is a combination of my passion for football and my other passion, which is my faith.

I did not always have a faith. I called myself a Christian because that;s how I was raised. But I was not really a Christian. Please allow me to give the Readers Digest version of my story. I grew up on the South Shore of Boston in a small town called Marshfield. There wasn’t much to do in a small town and as a result we entertained ourselves by drinking, brawling and alot of other things. God was the furthest thing from my mind. I grew up Catholic and felt that basically I was a good person and that was good enough. In fact I prided myself on the fact that although I fought nearly every other weekend, I did not fight unless it was provoked and I was "in the right". I felt if I was right, I couldn't lose and most times didn't.

After High School I spend several years of hanging at local bars, fighting every other weekend etc.. and then in 1981, I decided I needed a change and moved to Ft. Lauderdale. I was 21 and what better place to be for a 21 year old man than Ft. Lauderdale, the spring break capital of the world at that time! Not a very hard sell.

In Ft. Lauderdale, I continued down the same path as in Marshfield. Only this time there was much more to do. I was constantly looking for something new, something to fill my time. I was making a lot of money, things were going great with my career, but eventually even the bars and the girls and the brawling lost their luster. I still went to the same old places, what better things did I have to do? Still, I couldn’t help thinking … Is this all there is?

In 1986 that changed. A guy that I worked for, a close friend, explained to me that what I was missing was a relationship with God. More importantly, he explained the difference between religion and a relationship with God. He explained that God desires to have a personal relationship with all of us. So much so that He sent His only son Jesus to live and die to pay the penalty for the wrong choices I’d made in my life. He also explained that unlike what a lot of people think, all roads don’t lead to Heaven. The Bible tells us that “there is no other name under Heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.”. That name is Jesus. NO amount of good deeds will get us into Heaven. NO matter how good I was, it would not be good enough. Only through faith in Jesus is Heaven attainable. In this age of political correctness that may seem exclusionary but the opposite is true. Heaven is open to everyone regardless of color, past deeds or anything else. Jesus died for everyone! All he requires is our faith and obedience.

I now enjoy a personal relationship with God through His son Jesus and my life has not been the same.  My life is more manageable and has changed drastically for the better. I’ve been married for 19 years to a beautiful wife and have three wonderful children. That’s not to say that my life has not always been rosy. I have had a lot of  goods times and bad times over the years. But the difference is that even during the bad times, God was there for me. He gave me a peace that goes beyond human understanding.

If you read this and also feel like .. is this all there is? And need someone to talk to or if you have any questions about what it means to have a relationship with God .. call me (407) 421-5660. If not, know that God loves you and cares for you.
